Simone

Al is a film director, Victor Taransky, who has the idea of creating a character, a virtual woman, Simone, and make her a big movie star.
People believe it totally and she becomes the bigger star of the world.
Until he sees that his creation has gone beyond his control and tries to revert the situation...not being able to do it completely..but everything turns out great for everybody, including Simone.

Scarface

Wonderful movie with Al, Michelle Pfeiffer, Steven Bauer, Robert Loggia, F.Murray Abraham and many more.

Al portrays a cuban refugee, Tony Montana, who gets to the States with his friend Manny when the Guantanamo embargo is on.

Afraid of nothing, Tony builds his way to success, money and happiness. Deals drugs, assassinations.
Gradually he becomes more and more powerful, until the moment when he sees that everything he 'conquered' starts to loose its meaning and he has no longer reason to live.

Dali & I: The Surreal Story - Coming 2011

Can't wait to see Al portraying Salvador on the screen!!!!
I imagine his excitment filming it!!!!!!! \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/

art in motion, filming, acting..acting art...

Dog Day Afternoon

That love, that passion, that drive on acting, putting all from itself there, then, now... you don't see that normally anymore...

Al do it so well, in every movie. Such a commitment, such a passion, really instigates and involves us all, makes us admire and care for him every time more.

No matter how many uncountable times i rewatch any of his films..i admire them and him more every time.

I got a pack of stocked love for that person for 19 years...it's so heavy that i even got to leave it aside for a while.

But now I see all i have to do is go along with this energy and go for it, like he did.
Go for it. Go, learn to act, learn to direct, go, go see him, go talk to him. Go give him that big longed hug.

Do it, just do it.

The Devil's Advocate

John Milton: Let me give you a little inside information about God.
God likes to watch. He's a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts.
He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear
for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition.
It's the goof of all time. Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow.
Ahaha. And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' His sick,
fuckin' ass off! He's a tight-ass! He's a SADIST! He's an absentee landlord! Worship that? NEVER!

John Milton: You sharpen the human appetite to the point where it can split atoms with its desire;
you build egos the size of cathedrals; fiber-optically connect the world to every eager impulse;
grease even the dullest dreams with these dollar-green, gold-plated fantasies, until every human becomes
an aspiring emperor, becomes his own God... and where can you go from there?
John Milton: Free will, it is a bitch.

Cruising

Steve, a policeman assigned to investigate a serial killer in the gay underground community in NY.
A world starting to be revealed by the movie lenses...minds being explored, googled on, voyeured..

The delicacy of being a man, a policeman, with a girlfriend, dealing with all the newness of that particular community, existing for such a long time in plain obscurity and darkness, always neglected by a part of society.

The fear of the unknown, of the strange, of himself.

The desperation from the closeness to the possibility of being murdered, the instability, walking on the razor's edge..

That film's about it all...and Al does it greatly, as always.

Author! Author!

Just rewatched it, after many years..
Great movie, lovelly story about a playwritter who lives with 5 children, not all of his own, and a wife.
Has to deal with the pressure of finishing a play, dealing with a divorce and some of the children leaving for their natural father's home, and later coming back to him =D

Beautiful, I love the song that frames the movie, love the way Al relates to the children, laughs with them and they with him. Love the beautiful load-off he gives the ex-wife..so great..

Another great movie with my dear dear Al...

Scarecrow

Two strangers on a road waiting for a hitchhike.

After they introduce themselves, start to chat, everything ignites...
and their lives will never be the same.

Craziness, pure joy of living, of surviving, surviving time, surviving themselves, each other, every day...everything..or almost.

Two persons adventuring themselves down hitchhiking till Pittsburgh, confronting with each other and others, revealing their pasts, talking about the future.

Dealing with things as they come but trying to stick with the plan.... THE PLAN!!!!!!!!!!!

hahahhahaahahhahaa

great movie...
brilliantly performed by Al and Gene.

Frankie and Johnny

'Now, there's a man and a woman. He's a cook. She's a waitress.
Now, they meet and they don't connect. Only, she noticed him. He could feel it.
And he noticed her. And they both knew it was going to happen.

They made love, and for maybe one whole night, they forgot the 10 million things that make people think, I don't love this person, I don't like this person, I don't know this.
Instead, it was perfect, and they were perfect. And that's all there was to know about.
Only now, she's beginning to forget all that, and pretty soon he's going to forget it too.'

Frank Serpico

Just rewatched 'Serpico', such a great film, brilliantly starred by Al...
Oh man, we're lucky to have you..

I found Frank's site and blog, I'm thrilled and amazed he's still doing things, talking, spreading his mind around the world, way to go, man!!!!!!!

Kevin, so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Al's first movie, from 1971, before he ever knew he'd be worldly successfull, known and esteemed.

Very good..

Another example of movies made on the seventies, capturing some of that age's atmosphere and projecting it to us..uniquely.

Some great start for Al's movie career...

I just finished watching it, after 19 years longing to see it.. =)

The story of Bobby and Helen, who meet on the house of a common friend in NY and get involved.

Humans living along their everyday routines of swelling on their sadness, pains, trying to cope with them with heroin and cocaine, draggin' themselves around the streets, selling and buying dope, looking for nothing else other than reaffirmation for their habits..

The mingle of their lives and the big city pulsation, each day, corrosing their souls, the effects of time, of their abandon on themselves..

There is beauty, there is meaning, it is on the whole of it.

'So?' - Bobby says in the end, to Helen.

They walk on, silent.

The first award...1969, for 'Does a Tiger wear a neck tie?'

AFI Life Achievement Award for Al Pacino

I'm only watching it now, didn't know about it!!!!!!

WHAT A JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

19 years later..

It all came back to me...or I came back to it.
To the love, to him..Al..

Sal and Al, father and son, joyfully on ths photo, so many years ago..

I got to know about Al's masterpiece film The Godfather only in 1990 though my family always told me about it..before, i was too young to watch it with patience.

But when i did......it was something like nothing else.
From that moment on i looked for other movies with Al, watched all i could find, longed to watch the few i couldn't find.

I wrote about him, wanted to send but didn't...i guess...did i?

I wanted SO MUCH to go to NY and meet him...tell him everything i was feeling right away.

I don't know where feelings come from...those strong, unique, endless feelings.
Don't know how they arise on us.
But they do.

Al's the proof of it.

Everytime I watch The Godfather or any other movie with him is like watching a brother, someone I know well, I can really relate to.

I feel Al isn't a mysterious person, he's so simple, completely down to earth, so communicative, so humble, he himself doens't see 20% of the self-value we see in him. Cause it is indeed something hard, i imagine, for the "idol" to imagine himself on our shoes.

But i always try to imagine myself on anyone's shows, specially those i love so much, like him.

Al was never a celebrity, not just a name, a star, something shallow and easy to lable.

He always showed so much strength and courage through his films, like i rarely see on other actors. Each is unique, that is certain.

He is my favorite, has been for 19 years and will always be.

I will go there and see him with my eyes, for he deserves to be loved by us, for he is really GREAT, one of the best persons I ever seen.
